...Heavy Snow and Strong Winds Possible Wednesday into Friday...

Computer models continue to indicate the possibility of heavy snow
moving into the Middle Tanana Valley Wednesday afternoon and
continuing through Friday morning. In addition to the heavy snow
strong west winds are expected to develop Thursday evening and
will continue into Friday. The strong winds combined with falling
snow and the snow and freezing rain already deposited in the trees
and branches from previous storms may produce power outages as
snow and ice fall from the trees and snow laden tree limbs break.

The heavy snow and strong winds will likely produce considerable
blowing and drifting snow and very low visibility over the Steese,
Elliot, and Dalton highway summits Thursday and Friday. Low
visibility in blowing snow is possible at valley level in and
around Fairbanks especially Thursday night and Friday morning.

Listen to NOAA Weather Radio or your local media for updates on
this developing situation.
